Welcome to Elihu Entertainment!

Elihu Entertainment, formed by Hugh and Elizabeth Elwood, showcases the magical puppet musicals created by the couple’s company, Elwoodettes Marionettes, along with mystery stories and theatrical play scripts written by Elizabeth Elwood.

Elizabeth has published three books of mystery stories that have gained comparisons to Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers, Ellery Queen, and even Rumpole of the Bailey.  The last of these, The Beacon and Other Mystery Stories , came out in 2009, and a fourth book will be completed in 2011.  Her plays, Renovations and Casting for Murder , have been produced with great success by several companies across Canada.  A third play, Shadow of Murder , had its world premiere at the Bernie Legge Theatre in New Westminster in June, 2011 and played to sellout crowds.  The scripts are available and are ideal for groups looking for light comedies or murder mysteries, and the books can be purchased through local stores, or through iUniverse, Amazon or Barnes and Noble on line.  Additional theatrical scripts will be available in the near future.

The marionette company has a variety of shows that are available for private bookings.  A full list of shows is available on this site.

THE BEACON

"The characters and situations all ring
with authenticity.  This author knows her
fictional world and has created an enduring
and fascinating set of characters.

The author keeps each story fresh with unique
and specific details and with realistic crime-
related  events.  At the same time, the
collection as a whole has its own rise, climax
and fall... a craftily constructed collection that
speaks in both its singular stories and in a
collective voice.

Readers of mysteries will enjoy this collection.
The book has literary value too - many artful,
lovely passages - this is very strong writing put
to use for a great collection of engaging stories."
