When the dynamic Nicholas White dies after a career that took him all over the globe, he leaves his married daughters in charge of the family finances. The responsibility of caring for their mother falls to Penelope and her husband, and renovations get underway to provide a suite for the elderly widow. However, as the work begins, some startling documents come to light that suggest the father's years in the US were not simply spent accumulating wealth.
